Roy C. Donelson, 78, of South Sioux City passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at a local nursing home.

Graveside Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Graceland Park Cemetery in Sioux City. Mohr & Becker-Hunt Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Roy was born on Dec. 6, 1943, in Fredonia, Ky., to Roy D. and Odie (Brinckley) Donelson. He was the youngest of five sisters. He was united in marriage to Judy Long on July 19, 1962. The couple lived in Lockport, Ill., before moving the family to South Sioux City in the early 80s. Roy began his career at General Motors where he worked for 35 years before retiring. Roy was a hard worker his entire life. He enjoyed working on cars, traveling with Judy and watching golf. Family was very important to him and he would often visit family back in Kentucky. He was a former member of Landmark Baptist Church before they closed.

He is survived by his sons Roy W. (Kristi) Donelson of South Sioux City, and Randy (Susan) Donelson of Hawarden, Iowa; former daughter-in-law, Angie Dice of Merrill, Iowa; grandchildren Cody, Dakota, Kassandra, Danielle, Nickolas, and Victoria; and sisters Betty Jean Huckisson of Force City, Ill., and Wanda Smith of Orange Park, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; infant daughter, Judith May Donelson; and sisters Dorothy Mae Crider, Geneva Darnell, and Brenda Joyce Bincent.
