Dale D. DeVries, 68 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Monday, April 18, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his family. Services will be held 11:00am Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Glendale Community Baptist Church. Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff is assisting with the arrangements.

Dale Dean DeVries was born on February 19, 1954 in Sibley, Iowa. He graduated in 1972 from the Worthington Sr. High School in Worthington, Minnesota.

On April 20, 1985 Dale was united in marriage to Linda Carroll in Sioux City.

Dale drove truck for Leroy Prins in Rushmore, Minnesota, and later worked as a electro-plater for Cal-Aurun Industrial in Huntington, Beach, California, which made parts for computers and aircraft. He retired from IDFI as an electro polisher, retiring in May of 2021.

Dale enjoyed golfing, working on older cars that he had over the years including a 1928 Model A Roaster pickup and most recently his a 1965 Cadillac. He also enjoyed playing pool, cards, listening to the Blues music and was an avid reader.

Dale is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Stacey and her husband Joshua Sailor two grandchildren, Kenton Palm and Owen Palm, two brothers, Roger DeVries and Alan Thorson, and four sisters, Diane Ewy, Lisa DeVries, Joni Benson and Lora Billings.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell DeVries and his stepmother, Violet DeVries.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons, Kenton and Owen.
