Ed A Wahl, a well known farmer who has lived south of Kingsley for many years, passed away Thursday Dec. 1st, at the home of his son, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wahl, at Burbank, Calif. The news of his death was unexpected to his friends, as he left for the west coast only a month ago where he hoped a change of climate would improve his health. Several days after his arrival he became ill and was forced to his bed only a week before his death, which was attributed to complications. He was 68 years of age.

Edward A. Wahl was born on a farm in Marshall county, near Marshalltown, Iowa, August 29, 1870. 1 January 1893 he was married to Miss E. Parke, of Eagle Grove, Iowa, and in the spring of that year the young couple came to this community where they resided, except for three years spent near Colfax, Iowa.

In 1913 Mr. and Mrs. Wahl returned to this community, and engaged in farming about three miles south of Kingsley, which was their home for twenty-four years. One son, Harry, shared the contented home life of his parents. Mr. Wahl, as a young man, united with the Methodist church, and served on the board of trustees of the Pierson church He was also a member of the Masonic lodge here.

Funeral services were conducted from the Harry Wahl home in Pierson, Dec. 7th, and from the Methodist church, Rev. W. F. Lane officiating. Masonic rites were read by. Dr. H. N. Baker, senior grand warden, of Pierson. Burial was made in the Pierson cemetery.
