Larry R. Rasmussen, 67, of McCook Lake passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Larry was born on Oct. 6, 1953, in Sioux City, the son of Lawrence and Catherine (Eastman) Rasmussen. He attended school in Riverside. After school, Larry helped on the family farm. Larry was married to Karen Green (1975-2007).

Larry enjoyed spending time with family and friends. You could always find him at the race track, bar-b-que, or a good bon-fire. Larry spent a few years racing his stock car, #99, even being awarded a mid-season champ one year.

After his racing years, he focused much of his time on raising his family. Larry enjoyed spending time fishing or even riding his Harley. There was even quite a few years you would find him chasing his children up and down the road with their many athletic adventures.

Larry worked at the Floyd Packing House (1974-1987), Container Corp. (1987-1997) and then the Royal Canin (previously called Iams). Larry owned and operated Razz's Pizza in North Sioux City, in the mid-2000s.

Larry is survived by his son, Richie and his significant other, Jolene Benson of North Sioux City; daughter, Katie Rasmussen of Gillette, Wyo.; brother, Ron (Chris) Rasmussen of North Sioux City; and sister, Mary (Kurt) Grabow of Billings, Mont.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant sister; and one son, Timmy Rasmussen.
