George Harold Taylor, 75, of Sioux City passed away at his home Sunday, April 25, 2021.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday at First United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

George was born Oct. 18, 1945 in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of George and Thelma (Knudsen) Taylor. On Nov. 2, 1965, he married Virginia Paulson in Elk Point, S.D.

George served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from September 1965 until February 1967. He returned to the United States and began his career at Sioux Tools where he was employed as a Tool Inspector. Later he turned his hobby and love of photography in to a business, Taylor's Photography, which he continued to work up until earlier this year. In his free time, he loved spending time with his family, playing church league softball, golfing, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. For all three boys he coached Little League, church league basketball, and Cub Scouts leader.

George is survived by his wife Virginia; sons Jeff Taylor (Kim) of Sioux Falls, S.D., James Taylor (Toni) of Ankeny, Iowa, and Jason Taylor (Rachel) West Des Moines, Iowa; five grandchildren; and one sister, Betty (David) Lindsey of Springfield, Mo.

George is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Sara Taylor; and one sister Donna and her husband Rivola Bennette
