MOVILLE, Iowa-Willard D. "Coop" Cooper, 72, of Moville died Thursday, April 15, 2004, at Sioux City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Rock Branch Methodist Church in rural Moville. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, rural Moville. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville.

MOVILLE, Iowa - Willard D. "Coop" Cooper, 72, of Moville died Thursday, April 15, 2004, at Sioux City.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Rock Branch Methodist Church in rural Moville, with the Rev. Carl Harman officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery, rural Moville. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at Christy-Smith McCulloch Chapel in Moville.

Willard "Coo" Cooper was born Feb. 26, 1932 in rural Anthon, Iowa, the son of Jess Edward and Vina Norma (Hannah) Cooper. He attended and graduated from Moville High School in 1950.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from April 23, 1952 to March 19, 1954. He was a lifelong resident and farmer in the Moville area.

He was of the Methodist faith. Coop, who was a very mechanical individual, enjoyed working on cars, playing cards and coyote hunting.

Survivors include a brother, Wayne Eugene Cooper of Anthon, Iowa; a sister Wilma (Cooper) Todd of Cushing, Iowa; three step-daughters, Peggy Schmidt of Moville, Melissa Bradberry of Alta, Iowa and Paula Brownmiller of Oklahoma; a step-son, Rick Schmidt of Moville; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Warren Cooper; and a special friend, Myrtle Brownmiller.

Pallbearers will be Steven Riser, Carrol Dean Koch, Leo Cooper, Jim Cooper, Ed Miller, Duane Hopp and Lane Tabke.
