Daniel Cooper, 82, rural Moville, died Saturday in a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Rock Branch United Methodist Church. The Rev. Donald Harbour will officiate. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery at Rock Branch under direction of the McCulloch Funeral Home of Moville.

Mr. Cooper was born Sept 1, 1888, near Montour, Tama County, Iowa. He moved to Woodbury County at age 16. He married Mary Sadler Jan. 6, 1915, at her home near Rock Branch.

The couple farmed in the Moville and Kingsley, Iowa, areas until retirement. For the past six months, the couple had lived with their daughter, Mrs. Ray (Alice) Winneke in Sioux City.

Survivors’ addition to the widow and the daughter include three sons, Vernon of Quimby, Iowa, Carroll of Anthon and Marvin of La Mirada, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Ted (Theresa) Jeffrey of Norfolk, Neb.; a brother, Bert of Laurel, Neb.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
