Joyce R. Tobin, 85, of Castle Rock, formerly Sioux City, died Saturday April 17, 2021, at Pine Trails Retirement Community in Castle Rock.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, Iowa. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Salix. Viewing will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with a rosary at 6 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Online condolences may be given at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Joyce was born March 3, 1936, in Sioux City. She was the daughter of Ernest and Katherine (Trometer) Baker. She graduated from Central High School in 1954. Joyce worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone, AEA 12 and Phillips Kiln Service in Sioux City. She also worked at the corporate office of the YMCA in Kansas City, Mo.

Joyce married William Tobin on March 2, 1957, at St. Boniface Church. She loved to travel. Joyce and Bill spent 10 years as full-time RVers. She loved her family and friends. Joyce enjoyed playing cards, games, reading and gardening. And she loved birding.

She is survived by four daughters, Kathy Foreman (Mark) of Geddes, S.D., Peggy Hegwer (Todd) of Castle Rock, Colo., Nancy Williams (Brian) of Cape Coral, Fla., and Mary Jo Fry (Steve) of Castle Rock. Joyce has eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William Tobin.
