ANTHON, Iowa -- William H. Clausen, 81, of Anthon died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Salem Lutheran Church in rural Correctionville, Iowa, with the Rev. Scott Meier officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Earnest-Michaelson Funeral Home of Kingsley, Iowa.

Mr. Clausen was born June 2, 1918, in Anthon, the son of Frederick and Minnie (Ruess) Clausen. He attended rural country school. He farmed in the Anthon and Correctionville area.

He married Norma Jean Benson on Oct. 19, 1952, in Correctionville. He was also employed with International Tractor Dealership in Anthon for many years before retiring.

He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church and enjoyed playing cards, horseshoes and tractor pull contests.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Linda and her husband, Dale Erickson of Sioux City and Nancy Clausen of Anthon; three sons, Bill and his wife, Vickie of Alta, Iowa, Bob of Anthon and Tom of Parker, Colo.; six grandchildren, Chris and Lisa Erickson, Jason, Jana, Jodi and Ashley Clausen; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Emil; a sister, Florence Althaus; and a son, Paul.
