C. H. (Carl) Carlson, 79, Correctionville, died Monday at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Salem Lutheran Church, Rock Branch. The Rev. William Heinszig will officiate. Burial will be In Fairfield Cemetery, Rock Branch, under direction of the Wilson - Hull Funeral Home of Correctionville.

Mr. Carlson was born Feb. 19, 1887, at Husum, Germany. He came to the United States as a young boy. He married Emma Ruess at Midway, Iowa. They lived in the Anthon and Rock Branch communities, moving to Correctionville in 1946.

Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Sophia Reinert of Cherokee, Iowa, and Mrs. Edna Patton of Washington; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandson.
