Henry G. Benedix, 90, of Waverly, Iowa, formerly of Pierson, died Tuesday night at a Waverly hospital following a heart attack.

The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Waverly, and at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Salem Lutheran Church in Pierson. Burial will be in Rock Branch Cemetery under the direction of the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home of Waverly.

Mr. Benedix was born July 23, 1882, at Avoca, Iowa. He married Katherine Jensen at Onawa, Iowa, March 15, 1907. He farmed near Pierson until 1920 when he retired and moved into Pierson. In 1924 he moved to Waverly. Mrs. Jensen died in August of 1963 at Waverly.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth (Marie) Arns of Waverly; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Hoppe of Omaha and Mrs. Ida Seitel of Pierson, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
