Jeff Watt, 77, of Prattville died Sunday, March 28, 2021, at Noland Hospital in Montgomery, Ala.

At his request, his remains were cremated. There will be only a private family service.

Jeff was born Feb. 18, 1944, in Sioux City, the son of Clifford H. and Agnes (Moen) Watt. He graduated from Leeds High School in 1962. He attended Morningside College, the School of Bank Marketing at the University of Colorado, the Aetna Insurance Home Office School in Hartford, Conn., and several miscellaneous insurance seminars throughout his career.

He married Connie Bell of Danbury, Iowa, and to this union, their son Chris was born. They divorced in 1974. He married Linda L. Lang of Sioux City on Jan. 21, 1977. She passed away June 29, 2016. He had a forty-six year career in the banking and insurance industries. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the 185th Air National Guard activated in 1968 into the United States Air Force. Jeff was of the Lutheran faith.

Over the years he served in many civic organizations including having been past president of the Sioux City Exchange Club, member of the Sioux City Auditorium Board, past president of the Sioux City Independent Insurance Agents, and served on the Rivercade Queen Fleet for several years. He was a well-known guitarist in the 60s and 70s. He had the honor of being inducted into the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame in 2003 with other members of the rock group "The Flames."

He was an avid golfer, league pool player, professional guitarist, RV enthusiast, and handyman. After his retirement in 2011, he and his wife enjoyed having traveled in all but a couple of the lower 48 of the United States in their motor home. After five years of exploring the country, they settled down in Prescott, Ariz.

He is survived by a son, Colonel Chris Watt, USAF and his wife Merelo Watt of Prattville; a stepdaughter, Heather, and her husband, Guy Berkenpas of Mapleton, Iowa; four granddaughters, Miranda, Madyson, Mykaela, and Maleah; one grandson, Brody; and one great-granddaughter, Emilia.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers (Tom and Dick Watt) and his wife Linda.
