Virgil Beach, 58, of Sioux City, IA. passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021 at a local hospital. Celebration of Life will be held 4:30pm Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Sertoma Park, Sioux City, IA. There will be a private family burial in Dakota City Cemetery, Dakota City on October 1st, 2021 at 11:00am. Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City is assisting the family with arrangements.

Virgil was born September 30, 1962 in Sioux City, IA. the son of Clayton and Dorothy (Meyers) Beach. He grew up in Sioux City and graduated from the Sioux City Public Schools.

He took care of both of his parents before their passing. He was on the Sheriff’s Posse from 1982 until 1984 and a Deputy Sheriff Jailer in 1984 and 1985. Virgil worked at local Nursing Homes most of his life. He researched his family history back to the 1600’s, finding relatives that were hanged during the Salem Witch Trials.

Virgil married Kathy Pierce on June 24, 1994 at the Rustin Avenue Methodist Church, Sioux City, IA., and to this union they had a son, Luke Pierce, they divorced on October 5th, 1995. Virgil married Katie Stewart on August 11, 2004 at the Dakota County Courthouse, Dakota City, NE., they had a son, Adam Beach. They divorced March 29, 2018.

Survivors include his two sons, Luke Pierce and Adam Beach; two sisters, Mary Lamoureux and Theresa (Gene) Goergen; and a nephew, Mason Lamoureux, and a longtime family friend, Bill Young.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
