Charles W. Bappe, 90, 2714 Nebraska St., retired farmer, died Monday in a Sioux City hospital after a three-week illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in Rock Branch United Methodist Church, rural Correctionville, Iowa. The Rev. Edward Schaller will officiate. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery at Rock Branch under direction of the McCulloch Funeral Home in Moville, Iowa.

Mr. Bappe was born Jan. 3, 1892, in Essex, Iowa. He married Hazel E. Moyse Dec. 30, 1925, in Sioux City. They farmed near Lawton, Iowa, for nine years and in the Rock Branch community for 24 years. He retired to Sioux City in 1959 after suffering a disabling injury.

He was a member of Rock Branch United Methodist Church where he had been a Sunday school teacher and a member of the board for several years.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Donald of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Mrs. George (Evelyn) Winter of Buffalo Center, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. William (Ruth) Nehk of Fergus Falls, Minn.; five grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
