Daniel Eugene Cason, 73, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2021, after a brief battle with cancer.

There will be a private memorial held at a later date.

Dan was born on June 4, 1947. He attended Hopkins, Leeds, and Central High School. Dan was married to Paula, and they had two children, Melissa and Jim. Later he was married to Gail, and they had Christopher.

Dan entered the Marines in August of 1966. He saw action in the Vietnam War as a machine gunner. He was awarded the Purple Heart from wounds he suffered. His other service medals include National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Rifle Marksman Badge, and Good Conduct Service Medal. Dan was honorably discharged in July 1972.

Dan is survived by his children, Melissa, Jim, and Christopher; mother Dorothy Bos; sister Diane (Dave) McLarty; brothers George Cason, David (Sally) Cason, and Charles (Laura) Bos.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Debbie Campbell.

We pray that Dan has finally found peace and acceptance in the presence of God.
