Virginia Ann (Cox) Steinhoff, 66, of Sioux City, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 1996, at a local hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with the Rev. Tim Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 pm. today, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at the Christy, Smith & Hockenberry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Steinhoff was born Oct. 25, 1929, in Oto, Iowa. She attended Sioux City and Oto schools, graduating from Oto High School in 1947. On June 19, 1948, she married Orval (Bud) Steinhoff in Oto. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1951. She worked for the Sioux Paper Company, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and the 185th Iowa Air National Guard where she retired in 1989 as a computer operator.

Mrs. Steinhoff was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Immaculate Conception Altar Society, the Sun Valley Monday Women’s Golf League, Eagles Aerie No. 77 Auxiliary, George Nelson Post 662 American Legion of Sergeant Bluff.

Survivors include her mother and her husband, Margaret and Ore Olson of Sioux City; two daughters and their husbands, Trudy and Pete Nelson of Carroll, Neb., and Jana and Mark Lorensen of Sergeant Bluff; two sons, Michael (Mick) of Sioux City and Stephen (Steve) of Springfield, Mo.; four sisters, LaVonne and her husband Bob Millarke of Sioux City, Mrs. Cecil (Norma) Coon of Dubuque, Iowa, Judy and her husband Dean Specht of Yankton, S.D., and Marcia and her husband Dick Pruchs of Sioux City; five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, DeWitt B. Cox.

Pallbearers include Tim Millarke, Rick, Randy and Dave Worrell, Chris, Pat, Mike and Dan Specht, and Jim Coon.
