Martha M. (Kleine) Uhl, Nov. 26, 1928 – Jan. 13, 2021

Martha passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side at Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, Neb.

Martha was the daughter of John and Lena (Hupke) Kleine of Danbury.

Martha attended St. Patrick Catholic School in Danbury where she graduated high school.

On Sept. 13, 1948, Martha married Pete Uhl of Mapleton. They were united in marriage at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Danbury.

Pete and Martha made their home and continued to farm near Smithland where three of their four daughters were born.

In 1955, Pete and Martha moved to Omaha, Neb., where their fourth daughter was born. Pete and Martha spent the remainder of their years in Omaha working to provide a home for their children, Diane (Uhl) McDaniel, Irene (Uhl)) Blackmun, Nancy (Uhl) Wacheldorf, and Cindy (Uhl) Zielinski.

Pete passed away on Sept. 15, 1982, a few years later Martha moved to Ontario, Calif., to help care for her mother Lena (Hupke) Kleine.

In 1989, Martha returned to Omaha to help her daughter Diane care for her children who had lost her husband that year.

Martha worked out of her home for years running a daycare and then after that she continued to help care for her great grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters and their families, Irene (Darrell) Blackmun, Nancy (Denny) Wacheldorf, and Cindy (Tom) Zielinski; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; and sister Dorine Keleher of Sioux City.

Martha was proceeded in death by her parents, John and Lena (Hupke)Kleine; husband, Pete Uhl; daughter, Diane (Uhl) McDaniel; sister, Dolores Kleine of Danbury, who passed at age of 6, Audrey Hilborn, Ann Keleher; and brothers, Jerome Kleine, Bernie Kleine, Omer Kleine.
