HORNICK, Iowa - James E. Lloyd, 59, of Hornick died Wednesday at Snyder's Bend, near Salix of natural causes.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today to the Hornick United Methodist Church. The Rev. Gary DeGeest will officiate. Burial will be in the Willow Township Cemetery in Holly Springs under the direction of the Wood Funeral Home of Sloan.

Mr. Lloyd was born Jan. 2, 1925, in Smithland. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Gail Forney Aug. 21, 1943, in Sloan. He worked with the Iowa Department of Transportation for 35 years, retiring in 1979 because of poor health.

Mr. Lloyd was a member of the Hornick United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, James Jr. and Michael, both of Hornick, and Rick of Holly Springs; a daughter, Mrs. William (Patricia) Smith of Holly Springs; a brother, Eugene of Oto; two sisters, Mrs. John (Inez) Mead of Smithland and Mrs. Eugene (Genevieve) Dawdy of Le Mars, and six grandchildren.
