Cecil H. Linscott, 61, Sloan, died Tuesday night at a Sioux City hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services for Mr. Linscott will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the United Congregational Church in Sloan. The Rev. Henry Held will officiate. Burial will be in Holly Springs Cemetery under direction of the Wood Funeral Home in Sloan. Smith-Rhodes Post 295, American Legion, will present the flag.

Mr. Linscott was born July 7, 1909, at Sloan. He was a lifelong resident of the community. For 24 years he worked for the Woodbury County Highway Department, and for the past 11 years for the Iowa State Highway Commission at Sloan as a machine operator.

Mr. Linscott was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army.

Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. Emett Sumner, Mrs. Howard Bray and Mrs. Milo Hunter, all of Sloan, Mrs. Howard Myers of Onawa, Iowa, and Mrs. Harold McKain of Shawnee Mission, Kan. and three brothers, Merrill and Calvary, both of Sloan, and Wayne of Idaho Falls, Idaho.
