RESIDENT HALF CENTURY DIES

Mrs. C E. Howe Came to Woodbury County in Year 1877

A resident of Woodbury County for the past 50 years. Mrs. Cornelia E. Howe died of infirmities attendant upon old age Monday morning at the home of her son, C. H. Howe, 1929 Sherman Avenue.

Mrs. Howe was 85 years old. She died following an illness of two years. In 1917 Mrs. Howe came to Sioux City to make her home with her son and had resided here since.

Born in Tioga County, Pa., she lived there until 1877 when she came west to Iowa with her husband and homesteaded there. She was married in 1864.

Mrs. Howe resided at Holly Springs until she came to Sioux City. Her husband preceded her in death 14 years. Mr. Howe was a member of the Christian church at Holly Springs.

Surviving are two sons, Barton Howe, of Milkshoe, Tex., and C. H. Howe, of Sioux City and nine grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Christy's funeral chapel Wednesday morning at 10:30 o'clock with Rev. W. W. Williams officiating. Interment will be in the Holly Springs cemetery.
