Trisha Renee Desrosiers

Sioux City -- Trisha Renee Desrosiers, 45, of Sioux City, passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, from natural causes, at home surrounded by her loved ones.

A celebration of life will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at her favorite gathering spot, Pete’s 20th, just off Morningside Avenue. We will be serving chili, a variety of finger foods, and sandwiches. We will be doing a balloon release in her memory at 5 p.m. So if you would like to send her a message in heaven to be carried on a balloon, make sure to join us by 5 p.m.

She was born to Matthew and Debbie (Lane) Dawdy on Sept. 16, 1975, in Sioux City. She attended East High School and throughout her high school years she became a CNA. After high school she continued being a certified nurse’s aide. Trisha was always a selfless person and put other’s needs above her own. She was always a caretaker, whether it be her career or taking care of family members who needed help.

On Jan. 7, 2012, Trisha was united in marriage to Jack Desrosiers at her favorite gathering place, Pete’s 20th. The ceremony was performed by her late grandfather, Bill Lane. Jack and Trisha never had children of their own, but they always treated her sister’s kids as if they were their own. Trisha took great pride in caring for her nephews whenever she was needed, while mom and dad worked, were ill, or simply had plans. Family was very important to Trisha, and she never missed a birthday party, baby shower, or other special get-togethers that the family would have. However, she was the one who always said she would be on time to the party but was always the one who showed up late!

She was also an avid reader and was never seen without a book in hand when at home. Trisha also loved her dog Ford and he loved her. Following her around the house all day and night and if she left the house he would whine the entire time. She also came to love Hensley, Gizmo, and Nomi (who passed in October), her God dogs. Trisha loved to talk and laugh, as all knew her, she liked to do it loudly too. She was loved by so many throughout her full but far too short life. She will be very missed by all.

Trisha is survived by her mother, Debbie Dawdy; her husband, Jack Desrosiers; her sister and husband, Stephanie and Deke Ross, and their children (Trisha’s godchildren and favorite nephews) Jace Ross, Taye Ross, and Lane Ross; a bonus cousin/sister, Lori Voss, and her children (Trisha’s second cousins but thought of as nieces and nephews, and her godchildren) Tanner and Ava; another bonus cousin/sister, Mikey Trotter and her children (also second cousins but thought of as nieces, and their godmother) Myiah, Augie, and Harley Jo.; many other aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins; and many friends whom she would also consider family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Matthew Dawdy; her paternal grandparents, James and Leola Dawdy; her maternal grandparents, Bill Lane and Margaret Luft; her maternal great-grandparents, Clarence and Margaret Luft; her uncles, Gene Dawdy and Sony Dawdy; and her cousins, Jason Farley, Jake Stabile, and Peyzlee Gotto.
