Orlie G. Prichard, 95, principal of East High School here for 20 years, died Wednesday at a Sioux City hospital.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Holly Springs Cemetery at Holly Springs.

In addition to East High, Mr. Prichard served as principal at schools in Oto, Carroll and Webster City. He joined the East staff in 1922 as vice principal and became principal in 1934, retiring in 1954 after doctors advised him to “slow down.”

Mr. Prichard, a native of Hornick, lived the last 12 years at Sunrise Manor in Sioux City. He was graduated from Morningside College in Sioux City and received a master’s degree from the University of Iowa.

While in Des Moines he was active in various educational associations, the East Des Moines Club, Masonic organizations, and first United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Wayne of Sioux City; and two granddaughters.

The Berger-Nelson Funeral Service in Sioux City is in charge of service arrangements.
