David Alan Seibold Sr.

Sioux City -- David Alan Seibold Sr., 74, of Sioux City, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at his residence surrounded by family.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Jill Clem officiating. Burial will follow at Graceland Park Cemetery, with Military Honors offered by the United States Army Reserve. Visitation, with family present, will be 1 to 4 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 3 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be offered at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

David was born on Jan. 13, 1947, in Mapleton, Iowa, to George and Myrna (Kenney) Seibold. He received his education at Maple Valley High School, with the Class of 1965. David served his country in the United States Army, and after receiving his honorable discharge, continued in the Army National Guard.

David married Sandra “Sandy” Burns on Nov. 25, 1967, in Sioux City. He worked as a Warehouse Manager for Sears Roebuck & Co. until his retirement. After retirement, David was a delivery driver for a few different businesses in Siouxland.

He was raised in the Nazarene Faith, and later in life joined and was a member of Rustin Avenue United Methodist Church. He was a member of the VFW Post 1973 in Sioux City, and was a Mason through his affiliation with the North Riverside Masonic Lodge No. 662 A.F.& A.M. He also enjoyed his time volunteering for the Civil Service.

David is survived by his son, David Jr. of Blue Springs, Mo.; daughter, Denise (Kevin) Bottjen of Sioux City; daughter, Anna Seibold (Scott Dilley) of Sioux City; son, Stuart Seibold of Sioux City; son, Steven Seibold (Lisa) of Hinton, Iowa, and lifelong friend, Gary Olsen; 12 grandchildren, Ian, Ethan, Daxton, Briar, Benjamin, Matthew, Breann, Tate, Braiden, Courtney, Hunter, and Lindsey; and three great-grandchildren, Kyah, Keelie, and Haizlee.

David was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Barb, Ron, Arden, Jean, Rose, Sharon, Bob, and Don; and wife Sandy in 2011.
