KILLED BY ACCIDENTAL SHOT

Joseph Hall Meets Sudden Death In Vicinity of Holly Springs.

Hornick, la., Nov. 18.-- Special: Joseph Hall, a young farmer aged 30, married, with one child, lies dead at his home five miles northeast of Holly Springs, shot through the side accidentally today. He is the son of L. H. Hall, a prominent republican and well to do farmer, who is owner of the farm which the son rented.

Mr. Hall and his 5-year-old boy started in a wagon to go to the home of a Mr. Cook, about a mile distant. They stopped at a strawstack to load in some straw and removed a shotgun from the wagon to do that. In putting the shotgun back into the wagon, it was in some manner discharged and the full charge of shot entered Mr. Hall's side, causing instant death.

The frightened boy rushed to his father's side and called: "Are you dead, pa?" He received no word in reply, and with a piteous cry unhitched the horses from the wagon and mounted on the back of one of them and galloped to the home of Mr. Cook for assistance. One of the first men at the scene of the tragedy was ex-County Superintendent of Schools Palmer. The body was removed to the home. It was thought unnecessary to notify the coroner.
