Funeral services for L. C. (Chris) Dowling, 57, of Hornick, who died Wednesday at an Onawa hospital following a long illness, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hornick Methodist Church. Officiating ministers will be the Rev. Keith Scott and the Rev. Marshall Myer, both of Hornick. Burial will be in the Willow Township cemetery at Holly Springs, Iowa, under the direction of the William Funeral Home in Rodney, Iowa.

Mr. Dowling was born Oct. 12, 1907, at Lanesboro, Iowa. He moved to Hornick with his parents as a child and has been a resident there for 52 years. He married Vida Kendall Aug. 30, 1929, in Sioux City. He was a farmer and an auctioneer.

Survivors include his widow; his mother, Mrs. Mary Dowling of Hornick; three daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Lathrop of Sioux City and Mrs. Donna Hanner and Mrs. Judith Steirbach, both of Hornick; seven sisters, Mrs. Mildred Sherman of Hornick, Mrs. Hazel Kersey of Oregon City, Ore., Mrs. Edith James of South Sioux City, Mrs. Bernice McReynolds of Milwaukee, Ore., Mrs. Helen Howe of Sioux City, Mrs. Maxine Mystrom of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Mrs. Dolores Nordstrom of Sloan; three brothers, Donald of Eugene, Ore., Clifford of Portland, Ore., and Leonard of Hornick, and 10 grandchildren.
