Jesse Cox, 67, of Elk Point, Dies of Heart Attack

Elk Point, S. D. Special: Jesse Cox, 67; died Thursday of a heart attack in his home near Elk Point. He was born in Harrison county, la. on December 25, 1877, and in 1901 he married Cora Yates. They lived near Holly Springs until about 10 years ago when they moved to Union county, S. D., to a farm near Elk Point where they have lived since. They had 10 children, one of whom died in infancy.

Survivors include the widow, nine children, William of Moville, la.; Mrs. Grace Stusse and Mrs. Gertrude Dahlman of Hinton, la.; Emmet, fireman second class, in the navy; Mrs. Mildred Peters and Mrs. Darlene Rippetoe of Sioux City; Mrs. Masel Brown of Anthon; Cpl. J. Cox in Belgium and Maurine Cox in Elk Point; one sister, Mrs. Maggie Hook of Humeston, la.; one brother, Marion Cox of Sedgwick, Alberta, Can., and 10 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Monday at the home and at 3 o'clock at the Christian church in Holly Springs, la. Rev. M. N. Knutson will officiate. Burial will be in the Holly Springs cemetery. The Anderson funeral home at Elk Point is in charge of arrangements.
