Mrs. Rose Burns, 86, died Thursday evening at her farm home near Hornick after an illness of about six years.

Mrs. Burns was born April 11, 1876 at Stangenbech, Germany. She came to Sac County, la., in 1882 and resided on a farm near Early, la. and Wall Lake, la. before coming to Woodbury County in about 1913.

She was married January 1, 1896 to Edward Bluen at Wall Lake. He died in 1909. She was married to Ralph Burns February 15, 1914. Mr. Burns died November 22, 1934 in Woodbury county.

She was a member of the First Methodist church at Hornick and the W. S. C. S.

Survivors are two sons, Ralph Burns and Edward Arveson, both of Hornick; two daughters, Mrs. Freda Taft of Sioux City, and Mrs. Ida Bartleson of Brayton, la.; a brother, Charles Lenz of Hornick; a sister, Mrs. Flora Halboth of Denver, Colo., eight grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

The body was brought to the W. Harry Christy funeral home in Morningside.

MRS. ROSE BURNS

Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Burns, 86, who died Thursday evening at her farm home near Hornick, will be at 2:30 p. m. Sunday at the First Methodist church in Hornick. Rev. Keith Hauser will officiate. Burial will be in Willow cemetery at Holly Springs under direction of the W. Harry Christy funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Virgil Belknap, Earl Hammer, Henry Hammer, Clyde Rose, Gordon Tevis and Glenn Edington.
