Floyd E. Raub

Floyd E. Raub, 73, of South Sioux City died Sunday, Dec. 22, 1996, at a Sioux City hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, with the Rev. David Alspach, pastor of Evangelical Church of North America, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Raub was born Oct. 8, 1923, in Lyons, Neb., the son of James A. and Bertha M. (Obermeyer) Raub. He lived most of his life in South Sioux City.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. -

He married Darlene S. Peters on Aug. 23, 1945. She died Oct. 19, 1964. He married Ila Gibson on Dec. 20, 1966.

He was employed in several steel fabrication planets in Sioux City until 1976. He received his engineering degree from Western Iowa Tech Community College in 1979. He was then employed with product engineering in Fairfield, Iowa, and at the Broyhill Company in Dakota City, until retiring in 1986.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10753 in South Sioux City.

Survivors include two daughters, Tami and her husband, Francisco Camberos, of Sioux City and Debbie Raub and her fiance, Randy Holsinger, of Remsen, Iowa; a brother, Ben O. Raub of Sioux City; seven grandchildren; three, great-grandchildren; and four step-children.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Connie Kelly; and a brother, Herbert A. Raub.

Pallbearers will be members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
