Edward William Rosston Jr.

Sioux City

Edward William Rosston Jr., 71, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, at a local hospital. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel. Online condolences can be expressed at www.meyerbro- schapels.com.

Ed was born Nov. 20, 1949, in San Francisco, Calif., the son of Edward W. Sr. and Maxine (Aaron) Rosston. He grew up in Lafayette, Calif., and graduated from Acalanes High School in 1967. He graduated from the University of Montana—Missoula in 1972 with a degree in Municipal Recreation. He dedicated many years to officiating high school, college and wheelchair basketball; high school football and A.S.A. softball while living in California.

After a varied career in business and sales, he moved to Sioux City in 1995 as branch manager for Electrolux Corporation. From 1995-1998 he was branch manager for Husker Water Specialists. It was here Ed hired a former Sioux City Musketeer hockey player (Rich Teece) who introduced him to the future love of his life, Nancy Grindahl Hill. On Sept. 26, 1998, they were married.

His most recent career was as a Certified Picture Framer and owner of FastFrame Custom Picture Framing in Sioux City. He loved being creative and working with his hands.

Being a people person, Ed thoroughly enjoyed his work; a happy customer brought him great satisfaction. He enjoyed hiking and skiing in his younger years, golfing and cheering for his San Francisco 49ers. He enjoyed gourmet cooking with his sous chef, Nancy. He often said if he could be anywhere in the world it would be Yosemite National Park.

He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Nancy Rosston of Sioux City; daughter Kelly (Christopher) Smith of Douglas City, Calif.; grandchildren Sierra and Asher; brother Richard (Anne) Rosston of Anchorage, Alaska; sisters Ellen (David) Neft of Kelseyville, Calif., and Jean Rosston of Zurich, Switzerland; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
