DEATH TAKES FRANK OERTEL

Frank H. Oertel, 85, who had served as postmaster at Bronson for 30 years, and also was secretary of the school board there for a number of years, died Monday at his home after a long illness.

Mr. Oertel was born December 28, 1875 at Oto and was a lifelong Woodbury county resident. He operated a drug store at Bronson from 1902, following his graduation from Highland Park College of Pharmacy at Des Moines, until August, 1958.

He was a member of Morningside lodge 615, A. F. & A. M., and Sioux City Consistory 5.

His wife, Edith, died in 1948 and a son, Lloyd died in 1953.

Survivors include a son, Harry of Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Harry Hurd of Merrill and Mrs, Carl Hurd of Bronson; seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

The body was taken to the W. Harry Christy funeral home in Morningside.
