Helen Marie Bates-Correia, 78, of Jacksonville and formerly of Dakota City went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021.
Services will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Helen M. Bates-Correia was born Feb. 16, 1942, in Stevensville, Mich., the daughter of Charles and Violette (McCon) Cooper. She lived in Dakota City for many years. Helen moved to Florida 32 years ago. She held many professional jobs, both civilian and military with two master's degrees she had acquired. Helen retired as Vice President of the loan department from Bank of America.
She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Robert) Wright of Jacksonville; the love of her life, David Kulaszewski; sister, Carole Hilliard of Joliet, Ill.; daughter-in-law, Karen Bates of South Sioux City; grandchildren Christina, Sabrina, Jeremy, Jessica, Michael, Christopher, and Julia; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill; and her two sons, Ricky and Dan Bates.
