John A. Jacobson

John A Jacobson, 65, formerly of Sioux City died Monday, Dec. 9, 1996, at a Council Bluffs hospital.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the Nelson-Berger Morningside Chapel, followed by a Masonic service conducted by Landmark Lodge 103 A.F. & A.M. The Rev. A.T. Washington will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery.

Mr. Jacobson was born Oct. 24, 1931, in Sioux City, the son of Hugo and Sigrid Jacobson. He married Joan Crane on March 2, 1956, in Sioux City. He was the owner of the Western Inn of Glenwood, Iowa. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

He was a member of the Landmark Lodge 103 A.F. & A.M. and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3682 of Glenwood.

Survivors include his wife of Glenwood; three sons, Tom of Denver, Colo., Steve and Jeff and his wife Julie all of Glenwood; a daughter, Kelly Pierce of Glenwood; three grandchildren, Keri, John and Valarie; two brothers, Herb and his wife Mary Lyn of Sioux City and Cliff of Waubun, Minn.; and two sisters, Dorothy and her husband Des Riley and Sig Brunssen all of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
