CORRECTIONVILLE, Iowa

Kermit G. Fountain, 65, of Correctionville died unexpectedly Sunday, Dec. 8. 1996, at his residence.

A Memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Christy, Smith and Hockenberry Funeral Home, followed by a Masonic service conducted by the Attica Lodge 502 of Sloan, Iowa. The Rev. Alex T. Washington will officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery, with military rites conducted by the Edward H. Honahan American Legion, Post 64. There will be no visitation.

Mr. Fountain was born July 23, 1931, in Gregory, S.D. He graduated from East High School in 1949 and from Morningside College, with a bachelor of science degree in accounting and business administration, in 1958. He was a farm implement dealer for 37 years, retiring in 1985, then president of the Little Sioux Canoe Company until his death. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1954.

He was a member of the Attica Lodge 502 of Sloan and the Abu Bekr Shrine Temple.

Survivors include three sons, Kurtis and his wife Jeanette of Whiting, Iowa, Dale and his wife Gina and Paul and his fiancee Jennifer Martin all of Lincoln, Neb.; two brothers and their wives, Donald and Carol of Brandon, S.D. and Gordon and Karen of Seattle, Wash.; a sister and her husband, Nancy and Bud Huston of Douglas, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Kory, Paige, Annalyssa, and Garrett Fountain; three step-grandchildren, Jonathan Kreisel, and J.R. and Angel Berens; and a step-greatgrandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his twin brother, Herbert.

Memorials may be given to the Little Sioux Park in Correctionville.
