SIOUX CITY - Debora L. Bales-Glover, 52, of Sioux City passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 12, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at River Hills Church in South Sioux City, with the Rev. Kevin Roach officiating. Burial will be in Omaha Valley Cemetery, rural Homer, Neb. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

Debora was born Dec. 11, 1956, in Sioux City, the daughter of Roger "Red" and Joan J. (Stansberry) Bales. She was a lifelong resident of Sioux City and the Siouxland area. She was employed at Iowa Pork, Gateway, Home-in-Stead Senior Care, WalMart and most recently as a private home caretaker.

She was a member of River Hills Church. She had a green thumb and loved every animal and no stray was ever turned away. If she wasn't attending to her animals or plants, she was enjoying time with family, friends and especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Melissa and Aren Burns of Sioux City; a son, Michael Bales of Sioux City; her father and his wife, Roger and Gola Bales of Sioux City; two brothers, Michael Bales and his wife, Sue of Muscatine, Iowa, and Russell Worden of South Sioux City; a sister and her husband, Lisa and Bill Wright of Conway, N.H.; four grandchildren, Briar, Jocelyn and Kale Burns and Gage Bales; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and a grandson, Brenden Burns.

Pallbearers will be George Wittern, Jim Stewart, Matt Schroeder, Dustin Chartier, Barry Hodges and Briar Burns.

Honorary pallbearer will be Patricia Montross.
