Doris P. Fetterman

SIOUX CITY - Doris P. Fetterman, 90, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009, at a local nursing home.

Services will be 2p.m. Saturday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. James Pointer officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyer-broschapels.com.

Doris was born Dec. 12, 1918, in Martinsburg, Neb., to Ralph and Phebe Bell (Clark) Still. She grew up in Sioux City and attended East High School.

She married Raymond Scott and the couple lived in San Antonio, Texas, for 40 years. Following the death of her first husband, she married Karl L. Fetterman on July 29, 1989, at Sioux City Baptist Church.

She worked in a clothing store in San Antonio. Upon returning to Sioux City, she volunteered at the Sioux City Gospel Mission Auxiliary for many years. She also was a charter member of the Sioux City Baptist Ambassadors Club.

She enjoyed crocheting, shopping with her sisters, wintering in Rockport, Texas, and going to auctions.

She is survived by her husband, Karl of Sioux City; two step-sons, Jim Fetterman and his wife, Linda of Olathe, Kan., and David Fetterman and his wife, Becky of Tipton, Iowa; three sisters, Rhodora Ewing, Roberta and her husband, George Harvey and Joyce and her husband, Bill Keil, all of Sioux City; a special niece, Doris Kay Conley; and several other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Raymond; three brothers, Irvin, Rolland and Harry Still; and two sisters, Genevieve Pfost and Marion Pearce.

Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Siouxland or Sioux City Baptist Church Building Fund.
