HINTON, Iowa (Died Sioux City)- Lucille (Albers) Pedersen, 94, of Hinton passed away Friday, July 10, 2009, at Sunrise Manor Retirement Community in Sioux City.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton, with the Rev. Steven Stoll officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens at Le Mars. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home of Le Mars. Visitation will resume one hour prior to services Monday at the church. Stories, memories and expressions may be directed though www.mauerjohnsonfh.com.

Lucille Bessie Trafton was born July 2, 1915, at Miller, S.D., the daughter of William and Emma (Lang) Trafton. Lucille was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church (Preston Township), rural Ireton, Iowa. She attended school in Struble, Iowa.

On July 2, 1932, Lucille and Alfred Albers were united in marriage at Hawarden, Iowa. The couple made their home on a farm near Struble. They lived in California for a year prior to returning to the area to reside in Hinton. Lucille worked at Aalfs Manufacturing in Sioux City as a seamstress. Alfred passed away on Dec. 19, 1961.

On June 29, 1974, Lucille married Harry Pedersen in Janesville, Minn. They remained in Hinton for their retirement years. Harry passed away on Jan. 5, 2001. For the past eight years, Lucille has resided at Sunrise Retirement Community in Sioux City.

Lucille was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Hinton, where she taught Sunday school. She enjoyed crafting, knitting, playing cards and had baked many pies.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Dale Albers and his wife, Beverly of Hinton, and Jerry Albers and his wife, Darlene of Onawa, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Joann Albers of Denver, Colo.; a step-daughter, Patti Gable of Eden Prairie, Minn.; a step-son, Larry Pedersen and his wife, Roxanne of Bloomington, Minn.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and several great step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Alfred and Harry; a son, Wayne Albers; a step-daughter, Barbara Woods; six sisters; and four brothers
