LTC James S. Rochester (USAF ret)

SIOUX CITY - LTC James Stanley Rochester (USAF ret.), 69, of Oxford, Ala., formerly of Sioux City, died Monday, July 6, 2009, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston, Ala.

Memorial services will be 6 p.m. today at St. Mark's Methodist Church in Anniston, with the Rev. Sonny Champion officiating. Graveside services will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of K.L. Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jacksonville, Ala. Mr. Rochester was born in Sioux City. He retired from the U.S. Air force as a lieutenant colonel with 21 years of service. He also was a Vietnam veteran.

He was a member of St. Mark Methodist Church in Anniston and Riverside Lutheran Church in Sioux City.

He is survived by his wife, Delores M. Rochester of Oxford, Ala.; four daughters, Elizabeth LeRoux and her husband, Mark of Alabama, Julie Rochester of Virginia, Tammy Kerigan of Texas, and Kristen Carl and her husband, Brad; two sons, Timothy Smith and his wife, Lori of Ohio, and Thomas Smith of Florida; and six grandchildren, Dana, Joshua, Erin, ShanaAnne, Tre and Presley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Tressie Rochester; two sisters, Betty Lafferty and Ruth Ralya; and a brother, Edwin Rochester.
