SIOUX CITYAN DIES FIVE DAYS AFTER BIRTHDAY

Following a serious illness of a week, Mrs. Alice M. Smith, a resident of Sioux City for the past 24 years, died of Bright's disease at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. M. Wigton, 2502 South Lemon street.

Mrs. Smith's health had been failing for several months due to her advanced age, but her condition not regarded as serious until a week ago. She was 79 years old last Sunday.

Born in Wisconsin, Mrs. Smith lived there only a short time when she moved with her family to Little Sioux, Ia. After being married in Little Sioux, Mrs. Smith and her husband moved to Ponca, Neb., where they lived for 35 years.

In 1901 the Smiths moved to Sioux City. Mr. Smith preceded his wife in death five years ago last Sunday. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Knox Presbyterian church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Wigton and Mrs. O. S. Johnston, 1023 River Drive. Funeral arrangement have not been made. Westcott's undertaking firm is in charge.
