SIOUX CITY -- Paul Michael Plendl, 53, formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, after a year long battle with cancer.

Paul was born Aug. 23, 1955, in Sioux City, to Cecilia and Raymond Plendl. He was a graduate of Aurora Central High School. He worked in the plant and then as the accounting manager for Robinson Dairy in Denver, Colo., for 30 years.

He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and uncle, who enjoyed sports, gambling and traveling. An outgoing and generous man, he will be remembered fondly and missed greatly.

He is survived by his mother, Cecilia Plendl of Sioux City; his wife of 35 years, Darlene of Brighton, Colo.; his daughter, Jessica and son-in-law, Mike Damron and their children, James, Samantha, Tanner, Braden, Kayleigh and Kenna of Brighton; a son, Matt and daughter-in-law, Tristan and daughter, Tatum of Westhaven, Utah; a daughter, Christina and son-in-law, Jeff Beal of Thornton, Colo.; five brothers and four sisters, Gary of Olympia, Wash., Stanley of Phoenix, Ariz., John of Cotapaxi, Colo., and Jim and Frank of Aurora, Colo., Anita Anderson of Sioux City, Sharon Kasperbauer of Carroll, Iowa, Jean Fegley of Humble, Texas, and Norma Rosenbaum of Elk Point, S.D.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Plendl.
