SIOUX CITY -- Blanche E. Ogle, 89, of Sioux City died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Paul Speidel officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Blanche was born Oct. 17, 1919, in Dunlap, Iowa, to Sherm and Rose (Larsen) Callendar. She grew up in Woodbine, Iowa, but later moved to Onawa, Iowa, where she graduated from high school.

She married Wayne Ogle on Oct. 4, 1941, in Jackson, Minn. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1943, and had lived here since that time. Blanche worked at the Sioux City Battery Company, Wincharger and finally at Zenith Corporation.

She loved her children and grandchildren very much. Blanche enjoyed working in her yard, collecting small knickknacks, dancing with her husband and listening to Conway Twitty and other country music singers.

She is survived by her sons, Richard Ogle and his fiancee, Emily Dykstra and Randy Ogle, of Sioux City; four grandchildren, Jeremy Ogle, Sarah Moreland, Ryan Ogle and Emily Ogle, all of Sioux City; five great-grandchildren, Damian Moreland, Xavier Moreland, Derrek Moreland, Kaden Ogle and Cherish Reynolds; three half sisters, Marilyn Boner, Linda Simmons and Shirley Nuzum; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne on Nov. 26, 1990; five brothers, Lyle, Dean, Loren, Max and Billy Callendar; two sisters, Ruby Cronkhite and Opal Loveall; a daughter-in-law, Jill Ogle; two half sisters, Doris Christensen and Janice Siebert; and two half brothers, Darrell and Cyril Callendar.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Ogle, Ryan Ogle, Rod Hansen, Larry Callendar, Ron Baldwin and Ron McKinley. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Moreland, Paul Prather and Tom Mullen.
