Evonne Gertrude Farber, 89, of South Sioux City, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at the Regency Square Care Center, South Sioux City, Nebraska.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 1, 2020 at Rush Family Chapel, Onawa, Iowa led by Jonathan Huitink. (Social distancing measures must be followed). Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Anthon, Iowa. Visitation will be 5:00 – 6:00 P.M. Sunday, May 31, 2020 at the Chapel (WE WILL LIMIT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE IN THE FUNERAL HOME TO NO MORE THAN 10 AT ONE TIME.- Due to Covid- 19 regulations). Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Evonne was born May 30, 1930 in Mapleton, Iowa the daughter of Omer and Dora (Ham) Bueoy. She grew up and graduated from Climbing Hill, Iowa in 1948.

Evonne and Jim Farber were united in marriage on July 24, 1949 in Climbing Hill, Iowa.

Evonne retired from Pleasant View Care Center after many years working in the kitchen and laundry department. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, singing to the grandchildren, word searches, and spending time with family and friends.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Climbing Hill, Iowa.

Survivors include her three children, Philip Farber of Boise, Idaho, Marilyn (Wilson) Huitink of Sloan, Iowa, and Juli (Len) Bowman of Sioux City, Iowa; grandchildren, Travis Farber of Seattle Washington, Heather (Donnie) Kerschner of Boise, Idaho, Jamie Farber of Boise, Idaho, Charles (Jennifer) Farber of Tucson, Arizonia, Jonathan (Kim Sorenson) Huitink of Spencer, Iowa, Jeanette (Al) Diaz of Toledo, Ohio, Randi Desy of Colorado, Stacy Bowman of Sioux City, Iowa, Peter (Cortni) Bowman of South Sioux City, Nebraska and Craig Farber of Colorado; twenty great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren with two on the way; one sister, Barbara Bumstead of Mapleton, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Farber; her parents, Omer and Dora (Ham)Bueoy; three sons, Craig, Douglas, and Jeffrey; daughter in-law, Eileen; one infant brother, Paul; two brothers and sisters-in-law; four sisters and brothers-in-law; and one brother-in-law.
