SIOUX CITY -- Gayle Jean (Leet) McLean, 56, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2009.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Hansen Desert Hill Chapel in Scottsdale.

Gayle was born in Sioux City in May 13, 1952. She graduated from Riverside High School in 1970 and from the St. Joseph Mercy School of Nursing in 1972. She graduated from the Minneapolis School of Anesthesia in 1981 and the University of St. Francis in 1998. She served as a nurse and certified registered nurse anesthesia for 20 years. She later worked as the office administrator for her husband's medical practice. She also taught anesthesia courses to other practitioners.

She was an avid gardener and talented cook. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband.

Survivors include her husband, Terry McLean; a sister, Annette (Jerry) Kohoutek of Yankton, S.D.; sons, Chris (Amy) and their sons, Spencer and Bradley, Ryan Jacobson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Evan McLean; and a daughter, Sarah McLean Cannon (William) of Atlanta, Ga.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Leone Leet; and stepfather, Leonard Wright.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Desert Mountain States Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 3877 N. Seventh Street, Suite 300, Phoenix, AZ. 85014.
