Bernard Andrew Haugan, 73, of Sioux City died Tuesday, July 11, 2000 at a Sioux City nursing home.

Services will be at 10:45 a.m. Friday at Holy Spirit Nursing Home Chapel, with the Rev. Gerald Hartz officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 9 p.m. today, with a vigil service at 7:30 p.m. at Larkin Northside Funeral Home.

Mr. Haugan was born May 18, 1927 in Sioux City, the son of Henry W. and Mary (Kerby) Haugan. He attended Sioux City schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was a long time Sioux City resident, except for the 16 years he lived in Riverside, California. He returned to Sioux City in 1966.

He was a former member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and St. Michael Catholic Church. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Men’s Club and American Legion Post 146 in Ocean side, California.

Survivors include his cousins, Mary Jane and Mark Bede and Anne Enloe, all of Sheridan, Wyo., Mary Sue McKenzie of Rock Springs, Wyo., and other cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three aunts whom he lived with, Frances, Ellen and Sarah Kerby.

Memorials may be directed to Holy Spirit Chapel.
