Everett Rickabaugh, 80, of Belvidere, Illinois, formerly of Anthon, died Tuesday, January 22, 2002 at his residence surrounded by his loving family after a lengthy illness. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church in Belvidere. Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home in Belvidere was in charge of the service there.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2002 at Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. in Oak Hill Cemetery, Anthon.

Everett was born to Ernest and Sadie (Davis) Rickabaugh on February 21, 1921 at the family home on the south side of Forney Lake in Thurman, Iowa, the seventh child of 10. He married Juanita Roark, daughter of Ed and Lena Roark of Rockport, Missouri on September 19, 1941.

They farmed in Iowa and diary farmed in Bloomer, Wisconsin for eight years. They moved to Belvidere in 1965 and he worked in construction at the Chrysler Plant and later for Sjostrom and Sons until suffering a stroke in March 1981. Then he worked summers in maintenance at Green Giant for four years.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he was a former Sunday school teacher, Awana leader, deacon and trustee.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Juanita, daughters, Nancy (John) Pollnow of Marshfield, Wisconsin, Sally (Bill) West of Poplar Grove, Illinois and Kathy (Lenny/Jesse) Jacobson of Belvidere, sons, Gene, David (Sheryl) and Dan (Pamela) Rickabaugh, all of Belvidere, Jim (Lynn) of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin and Bob (Becky) Rickabaugh of Evansville, Indiana, 28 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and five brothers.
