Lillian Eskildsen 102, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, formerly of Oto and Danbury, Iowa, died Sunday, August 18, 2002, at the home of her daughter in Mountain Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday August 23, 2002 at the United Church of Christ in Oto, with the Rev, Karen Handke officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Thursday, August 22, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon, Iowa.
Lillian Elizabeth Eskildsen was born October 5, 1899, in Pioneer, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Sarah (Moffet) Kent. Her mother died shortly after her birth. In 1909, the family moved to Oto, where she was raised and educated. On September 21, 1917, she was united in marriage to Matt Eskildsen in Sioux City. The couple lived in the Danbury and Oto area. Matt died April 4, 1964.
She remained in the area until 10 years ago when she moved to her daughter’s home in Arkansas. She was a member of United Church of Christ.
Those left to cherish her memory include two sons and their wives, Marvin and Helen Eskildsen of Oto and Alvin and Dorothy Eskildsen of Correctionville, Iowa; three daughters, Elaine and her husband, Fred Greer of Mountain Home, Pauline Tibbetts of Prescott, Arizona and Betty and her husband, Morgan Anderson of White Bear Lake, Minnesota; 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and several foster grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters and several grandchildren.
