Mildred M. Peterson

Mildred M. Peterson, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 1990, at the Clock Tower Village Nursing Home in Sergeant Bluff, after a long illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, at Bethany Lutheran Church, with the Rev. A.E. Vehling officiating. Burial will be Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, with family present agter 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mrs. Peterson, the former Mildred M. Kern, was born Feb. 23, 1923, in Sioux City. She married Oscar H. Peterson Jan. 9, 1942, in Dakota City. for 31, years, retiring in 1985. She was secretary for the Interbake Employees Federal Credit Union and was on the Board of Directors for 13 years.

She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, where she was president of the Ladies' Circle. She was a member of the Lamplighters, V.F.W. Auxiliary, and Commander of D.A.V. Chapter 6, Sergeant Bluff Sioux Iketts.

Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Howard (Margaret Ann) Dierking of El Cajon, Calif., Mrs. James (Charlotte Jean) Langford of Summrset, Ky., and Mrs. Edward (Mary Jane) Durand of (Des Moines; a brother, Arthur Kern of Westfield, Iowa; three sisters, Nona Fickett of Sioux City, Joanne Nagel of Philadelphia, Penn., and Eugenia Saunders of Le Mars, Iowa; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
