Father Fails to Save Sons.
Within full view of their frantic father, who was pulling to the rescue with might and main in a rowboat, Jesse Desmeulen, aged twenty-two, and Willie Desmeulen, aged sixteen, were drowned in the Sioux river two miles southeast of Sioux City. The brothers were in bathing when the young boy got beyond his depth and his brother swam to his assistance. Struggling in the current both went down.
