David "Charles" Beaubien, 1944 - 2008

SIOUX CITY -- David "Charles" Beaubien, 62, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at his residence after suffering a heart attack.

Services will be 1 p.m. today at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Craig Collison officiating. Inurnment will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Jefferson Cemetery at Jefferson, S.D.

Dave was born Dec. 2, 1944, in Jefferson, the son of Lawrence and Anna (Reinbold) Beaubien. He graduated from Jefferson High School and attended Dunwoody Trade School in Minneapolis, Minn.

He was married to Sandra Criss in 1967. Dave owned and operated Interstate Mechanical in Sioux City until his retirement. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air National Guard with the 185th, serving during Vietnam.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Sheet Metal Association and the Cosmopolitan Club. He was president of SMACNA. Dave loved to fish, hunt, travel and spend time with his friends and family.

Those left behind to cherish Dave's memory are a son, Craig and his wife, Krissy Beaubien of Hartford, S.D.; a daughter, Bobbi Jo and her husband, Don Shiu of Omaha, Neb.; two grandsons, Xavier and Conrad Shiu; a granddaughter, Sheylee Beaubien; a sister, Priscilla and her husband, Ray Wilson; a brother, Gary Beaubien; and a sister-in-law, Juanita Beaubien.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Anna Beaubien; and a brother, Vincent Beaubien.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Honorable Judge Kerns, Bill Andre, Bill Barret, Gary Beaubien, Bob Wiskus, Jim Hansen, John McCarthy and Ray Wilson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the charity of your choice. Per Dave's request, please no roses.
