12 April 2008Marilyn Y. Chmelka, 83, of Omaha, formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, April 3, 2008, in Columbus, Neb.
Marilyn Y. Chmelka, 83, of Omaha, formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, April 3, 2008, in Columbus, Neb.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Hanscom Park United Methodist Church in Omaha. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at Heafey-Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler West Center Chapel in Omaha.
Mrs. Chmelka was born June 19, 1924, in Sioux City.
Survivors include her children, Chuck Chmelka and his wife, Kim of Lincoln, Neb., Carol and her husband, Pete Balerud of Columbus, Neb., and John Chmelka and Jennifer Smith of Shawnee, Kan.; grandchildren, Katie, Beth and Nick Balerud and Alex Chmelka; great-granddaughter, Madelynn Balerud-Bohnet; brothers and their wives, Jim and Elaine Gisel of St. Paul, Minn., and Deane and Marion Gisel of Sioux City; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth E. Chmelka.
