21 April 2008Donna Briley, 58, of Monterey Bay, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, passed away unexpectedly March 26, 2008, at her residence.
Memorial services were held April 2 at Unity Church of Monterey. As per her wishes, the body was cremated and her ashes were scattered in the redwood and the ocean.
Donna was born March 5, 1950, in Sioux City, to Lynn and Mildred (Schmidt) Briley. She attended East High School, graduating in 1968. She attended the University of South Dakota for a year before heading to California, where she completed her studies at UCLA. She was a model, writer and actress and appeared in numerous commercials in California and also for Sears nationwide.
She later attended Emperors College in Santa Monica, where she received her master's in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. She was licensed to practice in most of the 50 states. She also was a licensed herbologist, aromatherapist, Chinese face reader and a Shiatsu therapist.
She married Michael Masser and to that union they were blessed with Aleksandra, She later married Dimitris Georgakopoulos and was blessed with Ari.
Survivors include two children, Aleksandra and Ari, both of California; two stepchildren, Sean Masser of California and Jenny (Kevin) Convery of New York; a brother, Lynn Briley Jr. (Paulette) of California; a sister, Connie (Chuck) Lovett of South Dakota; nephews, Jeramiah (Holli) Bradshaw of South Dakota, Brandon Bradshaw and his significant other, Sarah Sanem of Sioux City, Henry Lovett of South Dakota; and nieces, Stephanie Rhondeau of California, and Jessie Lovett of South Dakota.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
She lived every moment in gratitude for the miracle of existence. Her sense of wonder and awe inspired joy in all she touched. Her abundant light will forever illuminate this sacred earth and the heavens. Her legacy of love and joy lives on in her children, who are honored to hold her radiantly tranquil spirit in their heart.An education fund has been established for Ari and condolences may be sent in care of Connie Lovett, 46909 Lovett St., Burbank, S.D. 57010.
